The island
Naxos is the largest island of the Cyclades. It is an island with a long history and strong presence in the creation of Greek culture. Here, according to legend, Zeus, the father of the gods, was raised, and Dionysus, the god of wine, lived here. The island is intertwined with the myth of Ariadne and Theseus. Naxos is a self-sufficient island, even today when the tourism development is evident, the inhabitants have not stopped engaging in agriculture and animal husbandry, giving the island first quality agricultural products. Even today, the island maintains its traditional character and culture.
